A delicious snack that blends the flavors of classic tacos in a rolled appetizer form, perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
- Large flour tortillas (25-30 cm diameter)
- Full-fat cream cheese
- Sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Taco seasoning
- Ground beef (or chicken/plant-based alternatives)
- Shredded cheese (Cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- Salsa (drained)
- Chopped green onions or chives (optional)
- Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Diced jalapeños or bell peppers (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef in a pan over medium-high heat until browned; drain and cool completely.
- Remove the cream cheese and sour cream (or Greek yogurt) from the fridge 30 minutes prior to use to reach room temperature.
- Mix the softened cream cheese and sour cream (or Greek yogurt) in a large bowl until well combined.
- Add the taco seasoning, cooled ground beef, shredded cheese, and drained salsa; stir until fully incorporated.
- Spread 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the mixture evenly over a flat tortilla.
- Roll the tortilla tightly, starting from the edge without a border. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
- Wrap each rolled tortilla in plastic wrap and chill for 2-4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Slice each roll into 1-1.5 cm thick rounds.
- Arrange the taco pinwheels decoratively on a serving platter.
Notes
If desired, these pinwheels can be prepared a day in advance for deeper flavors. They can also be reheated in an air fryer at 180 °C for 5-7 minutes for a crispier texture.
